Hymn. What a Friend we have in Jesus
What A Friend We Have In Jesus,
All Our Sins And Grieves To Bear!
What A Privilege To Carry
Everything To Him In Prayer!
O What Peace We Often Forfeit,
O What Needless Pain We Bear,
All Because We Do Not Carry
Everything To God In Prayer!
Have We Trials And Temptations?
Is There Trouble Anywhere?
We Should Never Be Discouraged:
Take It To The Lord In Prayer!
Can We Find A Friend So Faithful,
Who Will All Our Sorrows Share?
Jesus Knows Our Every Weakness –
Take It To The Lord In Prayer!
Are We Weak And Heavy-Laden,
Cumbered With A Load Of Care?
Jesus Only Is Our Refuge,
Take It To The Lord In Prayer!
Do Thy Friends Despise, Forsake Thee?
Take It To The Lord In Prayer!
In His Arms He’ll Take And Shield Thee,
Thou Wilt Find A Solace There.

Children’s Talk. – Staying faithful
Does anyone know why God gives us rules? (God gives us rules because He loves us. The rules He gives us are meant to protect us and others.)
How many of you are married?
How many of you think you will be married someday?
Probably most of us will fall in love and get married someday, so it’s important for you to start learning some of the things that God says about marriage now. That way, you can think about these things before you do get married.
Right now, who is the most important person in your life?
Genesis 2:24 “That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.”
Right now, the most important people in your lives are probably your parents or grandparents or maybe a friend. But this Bible verse is telling us that when we get married, that person that we get married to, our husband or our wife, will be the most important person to us. We’ll move out of our parents’ house and we’ll maybe start our own family with our new husband or wife and our husband or wife will be the most important person to us.
Let’s look at another Bible verse. Exodus 20:14 , NIV. “You shall not commit adultery.”
God says, “Do not commit adultery.” This means that when we get married, we can’t have any other boyfriends or girlfriends.
If you were married, but then you liked somebody else, how do you think that would make your husband or wife feel? We can only love our husband or our wife in that special way. If we like somebody else or have another girlfriend or boyfriend, that will really hurt our husband or wife’s feelings and we wouldn’t want to do that because we love them. When we get married, God say we should stick with that one person for ever.
You may know that some people find that VERY hard indeed – but I have a secret to share with you. Make sure that your VERY Best Friend is Jesus – and He will help you every day – and in the rest of your life.

Reading – PROVERBS 7 : 6-27
6 At the window of my house
I looked down through the lattice.
7 I saw among the simple,
I noticed among the young men,
a youth who had no sense.
8 He was going down the street near her corner,
walking along in the direction of her house
9 at twilight, as the day was fading,
as the dark of night set in.
10 Then out came a woman to meet him,
dressed like a prostitute and with crafty intent.
11 (She is unruly and defiant,
her feet never stay at home;
12 now in the street, now in the squares,
at every corner she lurks.)
13 She took hold of him and kissed him
and with a brazen face she said:
14 Today I fulfilled my vows,
and I have food from my fellowship offering at home.
15 So I came out to meet you;
I looked for you and have found you!
16 I have covered my bed
with coloured linens from Egypt.
17 I have perfumed my bed
with myrrh, aloes and cinnamon.
18 Come, let’s drink deeply of love till morning;
let’s enjoy ourselves with love!
19 My husband is not at home;
he has gone on a long journey.
20 He took his purse filled with money
and will not be home till full moon.”
21 With persuasive words she led him astray;
she seduced him with her smooth talk.
22 All at once he followed her
like an ox going to the slaughter,
like a deer stepping into a noose
23 till an arrow pierces his liver,
like a bird darting into a snare,
little knowing it will cost him his life.
24 Now then, my sons, listen to me;
pay attention to what I say.
25 Do not let your heart turn to her ways
or stray into her paths.
26 Many are the victims she has brought down;
her slain are a mighty throng.
27 Her house is a highway to the grave,
leading down to the chambers of death.
HYMN How beautiful the human race
(Tune: University)
How beautiful the human race
In mind and soul and heart,
But also for the body’s grace
We praise the Maker’s art.
From head to toe God made us fair,
A wonder to perceive,
As Adam saw when he first stared
And fell in love with Eve.
The tender touch, the ardent kiss,
The trembling deep within –
Such passion is the body’s bliss
And not a shameful sin.
Repent, O Church, for al the dirt
We’ve dumped on natural joys,
And for the burden and the hurt
Of guilt that we’ve deployed.
Let love be bold to speak its name,
Let flesh not fear the fire,
Since flesh the Son of God became,
We celebrate desire.
Prayers of Intercession
Psalm 145. (Tune – Duke Street)
O Lord, Thou art my God and king,
And I will ever bless Thy name.
I will extol Thee every day,
And evermore Thy praise proclaim.
The Lord is greatly to be praised.
His greatness is beyond our thought.
From age to age the sons of men
Shall tell the wonders God has wrought.
Upon Thy glorious majesty
And wondrous works my mind shall dwell.
Thy deeds fill all the world with awe,
And of Thy greatness I will tell.
Thy matchless goodness and Thy grace
Thy people shall commemorate,
And all Thy truth and righteousness
My joyful song shall celebrate.
The Lord our God is rich in grace,
Most tender and compassionate;
His anger is most slow to rise,
His lovingkindness is most great.
The Lord is good in all His ways,
His creatures know His constant care;
To all His works His love extends,
All men His tender mercies share.

Hymn. (Praise 838) Fill all my life (Richmond)
Fill all my life, O Lord my God,
In every part with praise
That my whole being may proclaim
Your being and Your ways
Not for the lips of praise alone,
Not even the praising heart
I ask, but for a life made up
Of praise in every part!
Praise in the common things of life,
In every look and tone
With those who share my daily toil
And those I love at home
Fill every part of me with praise;
Let all my being speak
Of You and Your great love,
O Lord, poor though I be, and weak
So shall You, Lord, from me, even me,
Receive the glory due
And so shall I begin on earth
The song forever new
So shall no part of day or night
From sacredness be free
But all my life, with You my God,
In fellowship shall be.
