Worship with Us

We are a 21st Century Church based on a very long Church history.

We are a welcoming congregation, part of the Chuch of Scotland.

Our Mission

Through Worship, Prayer and Service, our purpose is to give new life and hope in Jesus within our fellowship and the community.

Sunday Services

We are passionate about gathering together as God’s people to worship, hear the word of God and to make meaningful relationships with each other.

Sunday morning worship is in the Parish Church, Blairbeg, Drumnadrochit at 10:30am. After Sunday morning service come and join us in the church hall for refreshments.

We meet with the other local churches in the area for services in Invermoriston on the first Sunday of the month and Balnain on the third Sunday (see our What’s On page for details).

Church in our Community

Our church is more than Sunday service, we seek to live our Christian faith – prayer and worship, caring and sharing, learning and serving – in the place where we live, amongst our family friends and neighbours.

Growth of personal faith is encouraged through preaching, prayer, bible study and discussions groups.

Whether you are a new resident in the parish or thinking of moving here or visiting on holiday, you will find that a Sunday morning chat over coffee could provide you with a vast amount of local knowledge…just ask!

Life Events

The Church of Scotland plays an essential role in providing worship and spiritual guidance for key life events, from child blessings and baptisms to marriage and funerals.

The minister and members of our church are here to serve the community in times of joy and happiness including weddings and baptisms and at times of sadness and loss. We warmly welcome members and non-members to celebrate these occasions at Urquhart & Glenmoriston Church and we are here to help you through those difficult times of bereavement.

About Us

The Parish Church of Urquhart and Glenmoriston was opened in October 1838.

A generous donation of land adjacent to the church enabled the construction of a new Church Hall in 1992 and a new Manse in 1997.

The Parish Church is a galleried building accommodating 400 and is the largest venue in the district. It is filled to capacity when used for services for the local schools.

Who are we?

The congregation is served by the Session Clerk, the Clerk to the Board, and several willing and dedicated volunteers. At present, a Treasurer is employed from outwith the congregation.

Since July 2023 a retired resident minister has acted as Locum and Interim Moderator, ensuring a measure of continuity at a time of transition.

Giving

Gifts, donations and legacies sustain the life, worship and witness of the church.

Weekly Offering – many of our members donate to the work of the church by regular standing order or bank transfer or you can make a cash donation at any of our services.
