Christian Education & Discipleship

We welcome the many ways that we can share the Good News of Jesus in our community.

Sunday Club

We offer a Sunday Club during the morning service for pre-school and primary school aged children. We meet up in the front pew of the Church at 10.30am and sit in for the first 10 minutes or so of the serivce, before going over to the church hall. All children are very welcome to come and join us.

We sponsor a child through Adopt-A-Child, Anthony Daniel Salazar Hernandez is 8 years old and lives in the town of Duenas, a suburb of Antigua, the old Capital of Guatemala. Sponsorship of Anthony costs £24 per month (plus extra for Christmas and Birthday presents), and we cover the cost of this mainly from our annual Soup Lunch fundraiser usually held in the Spring. We hope that through this sponsorship and the contact we have with Anthony, we can all learn about how God can use us and the money we give to help others less fortunate than ourselves.

Read more about Adopt-A-Child on our Mission Work Page. Read our first letter from Anthony here and his latest Thank You Letter here.

Bright Sparks

Every term we run a set of four Friday afternoon sessions for primary school aged children with crafts, games and bible teaching. These sessions are led by Out of the Box, an Inverness-based Christian arts charity.

Glenmen

Glenmen is a group of Christian men from all denominations in Glenurquhart who meet regularly throughout the year to undertake Bible study and have informal fellowship over tea/coffee. At each meeting, there is also a short presentation. These are given by different presenters either from within our own ranks or from further afield and cover a wide variety of topics.

Christmas Tree Festival

For the last two years we have held a Christmas Tree Festival. Groups and organistations in the community have been asked to decorate a tree to represent their activities. This has been a great opportunity to open our church and welcome visitors during advent.

During the summer months, joint services are held on the shores of Loch Ness at Invermoriston, courtesy of a local property owner.
