Christ is made the sure foundation, Christ the head and cornerstone

chosen of the Lord and precious, binding all the Church in one;

holy Zion’s help for ever, and her confidence alone

We as living stones implore you: come among us, Lord, today!

With your gracious loving-kindness hear your children as we pray,

and the fullness of your blessing in our fellowship display

Here entrust to all your servants what we long from you to gain –

that on earth and in the heavens we one people shall remain,

till united in your glory evermore with you we reign

Praise and honour to the Father, praise and honour to the Son,

knowing they’re wanted and loved by their Lord

The Church is wherever Christ’s followers are trying

to live and to share out the good news of God

The Church is wherever God’s people are loving,

where all are forgiven and start once again,

where all are accepted, whatever their background,

whatever their past and whatever the pain

The Church is wherever God’s people are seeking

to reach out and touch folk wherever they are –

conveying the gospel, it’s joy and it’s comfort,

to challenge, refresh, and excite and inspire

a place where saints and children tell how hearts can learn to forgive;

built of hopes and dreams and visions, rock of faith and vault of grace;

here the love of Christ shall end divisions:

where all God’s children dare to seek to dream God’s reign anew

Here the cross shall stand as witness and as symbol of God’s grace;
